The beauty and the agony of film is the mysterious acts of God that happen. Here some aging film tinted my memories of Macchu Picuhu blue. Even my documentation of the summit is purely mental, and it somewhat aids to its notoriety. I spent four of the hardest days of my life hiking the inca trail. Just before sunrise of the last day we reached the sun tower, over-looking our reward. Alas it was too foggy to make out much, but as we descended into Machu Picchu and the the sun rose - and the haze lifted to reveal the prize.
Sohpia paints horses and has a forrest in her backyard. There's a lake where every summer her family catch crawfish and have a huge fest mid-summer feast. And further there are large black rocks from the Jurassic period covered in moss. I grew up being afraid of the darkness. I've felt the shadows and other dark places hold mysteries that are better left alone. These nooks fascinated me. On road-trips I would desperately try to find something in the bushes as my father drove along the motorway...just hoping my life would finally become more interesting.
